Founded by Dave Kinnaman in 1997, Gray Matter’s philosophy was to provide a positive play space in the community for ALL ages. It became the first internet café and coffee house offering gaming, reading, and retail sales all under one roof. A giant chess set in the outside courtyard, puzzle table, reading room, Magic, chess, and video game tournaments entertained islanders through the late 1990’s.
